Watergate, Berlin’s clubbing institution, has been a great place to dance for more than 15 years now. However, when Watergate Records started back in 2008 no one thought it would become one of the most successful labels in electronic music. The label was initially established as a home for the club’s residents and then quickly developed its international fame by being a platform for some of the biggest names in the scene as well as emerging new young talent.

Over the past 10 years, the label saw releases from Sascha Funke, Ellen Allien, Tiefschwarz, Marco Resmann, Solomun, Pan-Pot, Kerri Chandler, Butch, Soul Clap, Adana Twinsand many more...

Ten years later Watergate Records is celebrating the 10th anniversary with selected worldwide dates. On the map of celebration spots, alongside cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Bogota, Bucharest, Amsterdam and London you can find our very own Zagreb! Powered by Tanzen Kollektiv, Zagreb’s finest dancing venue Aquarius Club got its own spot under the Watergate sky and joined some of the finest worldwide famous clubs such as Pacha Barcelona, E1 London and D’edge Sao Paulo.

Jimi Jules is a very unique character in the electronic music scene. As a multi-instrumentalist with a master’s degree in music at the University of Arts in Zurich, he has more to offer than the standard four-to-the-floor sound. Jimi Jules is deeply dedicated to the house and techno scene, but at the same time likes the intimacy of a studio session discovering new forms of music and energy.

Jimi landed his first #1 hit “Pushing On” in 2013, became resident DJ at Watergate Club in Berlin, as well as in Zurich’s techno snake pits Hive and Zukunft, kicked off a frisky side project together with his partner in crime Kalabrese called “Jules et Spatz” and started hosting the weekly radio show “Wolt” on Radio Ibiza Sonica. Numerous releases on Objectivity, Watergate Records and Zukunft Records followed, showcasing his exceptional skills as a producer. Finally, in April 2019 his “Karma Baby EP” saw daylight on much acclaimed Innervisions, ultimately proving his interstellar musical potential.

You’ve probably all heard of Hyenah and some might remember him as a guy with a mask, but here is some hard fact checking when it comes to this brilliant musical entity. Hyenah became Afro House artist of the year on Traxsource in 2016. Hyenah had the most charted track of the year on Resident Advisor and two tracks on Beatport’s annual Deep House Top 10. Hyenah is running the only regular club night for African House music called RISE at Watergate Berlin. Hyenah has released tracks and remixes on labels such as Freerange, Objektivity, AEON, Systematic, Drumpoet Community, Pokerflat, Akbal Music, Tribe Records and Toy Tonics. Hyenah has remixed artists such as Jimpster, Frankey & Sandrino, Denis Horvat, youANDme, Miguel Puente and the Afro Warriors.

Over the past decade Kristin Velvet’s life has been devoted to music in one way or another -
first as a promoter and DJ in Tokyo, then as the Australian label manager of UK’s Domino Records. Today she is an essential figure of Berlin’s club scene, heading up the tasteful Arms & Legs records label and being one of the most talented new names on Watergate roster.

2018 saw a collaborative project between Kristin Velvet and Chicago-bred, two-time Grammy Award nominee Felix Da Housecat. 2019 is shaping up to be equally as exciting with a remix in the works of Jesse Saunder’s classic ‘On & On’ and remixes for her own materials from Louis Vega and Cari Lekebusch.
