Halim i Mina vode trgovinu tradicionalnih kaftana u jednoj od najstarijih medina u Maroku. Da bi mogli držati korak sa zahtjevima izbirljivih kupaca, angažiraju Youssefa. Talentirani šegrt pokazuje zavidnu predanost u učenju umijeća vezenja i krojenja kojima ga podučava Halim, a Mina polako uviđa koliko je njezin suprug dirnut mladićevom prisutnošću. Plavi kaftan prigušena je drama o neizrečenoj napetosti između triju glavnih likova. Redateljica Maryam Touzani uz pomoć tog skrivenog nemira stvara erotski ugođaj, a uslijed potisnute želje u ovoj psihoseksualnoj drami i svakodnevne radnje dobivaju skriveni naboj.
