The King’s Singers službeno su osnovani 1968. kada je šest donedavnih zborskih studenata s King’s Collegea u Cambridgeu održalo koncert u londonskom Queen Elizabeth Hallu. Sastav su igrom slučaja činila dva kontratenora, tenor, dva baritona i bas, a ta se jedinstvena formacija održala do danas. Ansambl već više od pedeset godina postavlja zlatni standard u a cappella pjevanju na najvećim svjetskim pozornicama. Glasovit je po nenadmašnoj tehnici, muziciranju i svestranosti, koji proizlaze iz bogatog naslijeđa grupe i njezine težnje da oživi izvanredan niz novih i jedinstvenih djela, suradnji i snimaka. Opsežna diskografija donijela je ansamblu brojna priznanja, uključujući dvije nagrade Grammy, nagradu Emmy i mjesto u Kući slavnih časopisa Gramophone.
