Idejni začetnik ove sportske drame popularni je kantautor Đorđe Balašević, a njeno stvaranje i produkciju nastavio je njegov sin Aleksa Balašević i ime filmu dao prema očevoj istoimenoj pjesmi iz 1983. godine.

Film prati Petra, nekadašnju vaterpolsku zvijezdu čija je ishitrena reakcija prije sedam godina rezultirala tučnjavom u kojoj je poginuo njegov vaterpolski kolega i sin njihovog klupskog trenera. Sada, nakon što se povukao iz sporta radi kao zaštitar u noćnom klubu i povremeno odrađuje amaterske boksačke mečeve. No, kad sazna da je njegov bivši vaterpolski klub pred gašenjem zbog financijske krize, Petar se odlučuje na rizik profesionalnih borbi kako bi se odužio treneru za grešku iz mladosti i napokon suočio s onim što ga godinama proganja…
