Andrew i Melissa prijatelji su iz djetinjstva čije dopisivanje započinje slanjem poruka za vrijeme nastave u osnovnoj školi što se nastavlja cjeloživotnim razmjenjivanjem pisama

I dok njihovi životi idu različitim smjerovima kroz pisma progovaraju o svojim nadama, željama, snovima, pobjedama i porazima.

U međuvremenu Andrew postaje uspješan odvjetnik i političar dok se Melissa okreće umjetnosti i porocima.

Kamo ih vodi slučajan susret nakon mnogo godina? Je li, nakon toliko vremena, za njih prekasno? Je li moguć „popravni“ iz ljubavi? I jesu li, nakon toliko godina, osobe iz pisama iste kao one u stvarnosti?
