Pravim imenom Leon Atkins, ali poznat po svojem „blues imenu“ Lil’ Jimmy Reed, je živuća legenda, a zvuk njegovog glasa, gitare i usne harmonike vodi nas na samo izvorište bluesa u močvarnu Louisianu. Ovaj visoki, mršavi, karizmatični lik rođen je u malom gradiću Hardwoodu na rijeci Mississippi i već sa šest godina napravio je svoju prvu gitaru od cigar-boxa. Već kao teenager je postao sjajan svirač gitare i usne harmonike i svirao je po klubovima Baron Rougea. Kada je jedne večeri mijenjao veliku blues zvijezdu Jimmy Reeda „zaradio“ je nadimak koji ga prati do danas Lil' Jimmy Reed. Tako je krenula njegova karijera koja ga je dovela do svirke sa B. B. Kingom i Bobby “Blue” Blandom i glavnih mjesta na festivalima u Engleskoj, Irskoj, Belgiji, Nizozemskoj, Njemakoj, Danskoj, Švedskoj i Švicarskoj. Ove godina na svoju listu dodati će i Hrvatsku sa tri nastupa na Zagreb International Blues Festivalu. Mnogobrojni fanovi hrle na svirke Lil' Jimmy Reeda jer su svjesni da je njegov nastup jedna od zadnjih šansi da se čuje sirov i neiskvaren autentični Louisiana blues.


Lil' Jimmy Reed na deveti Zagreb International Blues Festival dolazi u pratnji The „A“ team banda koji sačinjavaju Bob Hall i Hilary Blythe. Bob Hall je jedan od najboljih i najpoznatijih britanskih boogie pianista koji je svirao sa John Lee Hookerom, Howlin’ Wolfom i Little Walterom, a u njegovom all star bandu svirali su i Peter Green, Jack Bruce, Alexis Korner i Jo Ann Kelly. Na bas gitari je sjajna Hilary Blythe koja je na blues sceni aktivna već više od 20 godina. Lil' Jimmy Reed nastupaju u zagrebačkom Hard Place-u u četvrtak 22.03., dan kasnije, u petak 23.03. su u pulskom Rock Caffeu, a u subotu 24.03. u Hrvatskom Kulturnom Domu u Rijeci.
