Buy tickets for Don Letts (Punk’s Not Dead exhibition party), 02.11.2019. - 03.11.2019. in The Garden Brewery, Zagreb
Join us for “Punk’s Not Dead” a graffiti exhibition and punk music night on Saturday, November 2nd, at The Garden Brewery.Almost five decades ago a new era began and the graffiti scene emerged on the west, pinpointing it to 1971 when The New York Times released an article about an artist Taki 183, consequently triggering new bands such as New York Dolls, Suicide, Death and NEU to appear. Punk and graffiti have an obvious connection, established in Zagreb as well, with the punk rock street paying homage to the punk legends. Adding onto that, a local graffiti artist Leon GSK is continuing with his Punk Rock Street interventions in public spaces, exhibiting 12 portraits presenting punk artists that marked music, pop culture and art.
This traveling project will stop at The Garden Brewery on Saturday, November 2nd, from 18:00 onwards, with a workshop, exhibition, auction and a party taking place.
A special musical guest will be coming all the way from the UK; Don Letts is a DJ, musician and a film-maker, a BBC Radio 6 host. Known for being The Clash videographer, directing movies such as The Punk Rock Movie, he has first-hand testimonials of a punk era.
