Razmaženi mačak uzima zdravo za gotovo sretan život i ljubav koju dobiva od dobrodušne i strastvene studentica Rose koja ga je spasila. Kad izgubi svoj deveti život, sudbina se umiješa i uputi ga na transformativno putovanje.

Beckett se nađe u zagrobnom životu koji se nalazi na granici između neba i čistilišta. Euforično bijelo svjetlo je posvuda, ali stvari se kreću s birokratskom učinkovitošću nedovoljno financiranog DMV-a.
